Lavinia Dickinson
Lavinia, the youngest sibling, was born. She and Emily were extremely close and attended school together. However they ran in a different circle of friends. She was more social than her siblings. Lavinia was known to be dependable and caring. Emily often depended on her in social aspects, and felt insecure when she was not around.
After Emily’s death it is Lavinia who saved her poetry and saw to its publication. During and after her death Lavinia was one of Emily’s greatest supporters.
